Hu did something unthinkable and it started the name-calling.
Suddenly, for one Glorified, having everything he needed could not compensate for the one thing he wanted. History of Creation–African/Black literary fiction–is the story of the seven Glorified who lived a contented existence until Hu invented the drum.
In a world without hierarchy, Seh wanted to be above all others and to lead the others into a new way of being. He was certain his path was the right way, except his path led away from the purpose of their being and violated a truth of creation.
Seh did not share his desire with the others and as he joined Hu journeying through the Realm, he conspired to deceive, to bring chaos where there was order, and to place himself above all others.
This is an excellent story. I like the voice that the story is written in. There is something old about this story and yet very new. There are cultural references in this story that will be missed by people did not grow up in the Black world. I bought the book because I saw an ad that said Garvey would have approved of the piece of literature. After reading the book, I think I would agree.
History of Creation is a hypnotic story.
I love the circular fashion in which this story is told. It is one of those fulfilling stories that you can’t stop reading after you start and then you are thinking about it when you are finished.
